Three Linbury Prize Winners nominated as best designer in The Stage Debut Awards

The Stage Debut Awards are the only UK awards that specifically recognise breakthrough theatre talent, celebrating emerging actors and creatives from around the country. The winners will be announced at the ceremony on September 23, 2018. Three winners of the 2018 Linbury Prize for Stage Design have been nominated -  Basia Binkowska for Devil With the Blue Dress at the Bunker Theatre, London, Khadija Raza for Hijabi Monologues, Spun, and Mixtape, at the Bush Theatre, London, the Arcola Theatre, London and the Royal Exchange, Manchester respectively and Fin Redshaw for Pieces of String (presented in collaboration with The Linbury Prize for Stage Design) and Love Me Now at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester and the Tristan Bates Theatre, London.

The twelve finalists will work on a design brief on an upcoming production from one of the four commissioning companies and exhibit their designs at the National Theatre. Four will win a commission to realise their designs with the participating companies, and one designer will be awarded the overall winner's title.

Twelve finalists for the Linbury Prize have been chosen and will soon be announced. Three designers will work with each of the following companies: Octagon Theatre Bolton, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Nuffield Southampton Theatres and Leeds Playhouse, to create a design for an upcoming production.

Candidates for the Linbury Prize can start submitting their portfolios from Wednesday 1 May. Deadline for submissions is Monday 1 Jul 2019.
